Z.D.’s first novel was about heart-shaped sprites, each about the size of a lunch box, with tiny hands & feet. They lived in the clouds but would drift down to earth like a kite when someone needed help. They got back to their cloud world by stacking on one another to make a ladder. Oh, & the story had no words: it was all drawings. Because she was 3 years old at the time.
Happily, she’s built some skills since then.
Born & raised in the Pacific Northwest, Z.D. finds inspiration in little stories everywhere: the sound of rain on an empty flowerpot; a bloody napkin left on a cafe chair; unexpected smells while walking through the city; tree roots overtaking broken concrete. And cats. She wouldn’t want to live in a world without them. Writing fills Z.D.’s time between hiking, cooking, reading, watching anime, & playing games of the table top & RPG varieties. And some job thing she does that we’re not going to bore you with here.
She doesn’t really social media, she’d rather run into you at a con & chat in person.
She hopes that you enjoy her writing. She likes writing it.
